Property Tax Bills In The Mail - Half Will Be Lower

Tax bills will be mailed to property owners starting July 17, according to County Treasurer Laura Fitzpatrick. Of the nearly 730,000 parcels in Clark County, the taxes on over half of them will be lower than they were the prior year.

The total taxes levied on all real property in the county for fiscal year 2009-2010 (which began July 1) is $2.2 billion, compared to $2.3 billion last fiscal year. This year’s levy includes the taxes on 5,300 new parcels. It also reflects the continuing impact of the property tax relief measure passed into law in 2005. That law, which was put into place to curb the impact of the then-rapidly-escalating property values, limits the amount that taxes can increase from one year to the next. Had the tax cap law not been in effect, the tax levy for this fiscal year would have been $2.6 billion.

Taxes are due on the third Monday in August, but may be paid in four installments if the taxes exceed $100. The installment due dates for fiscal year 2008-2009 are:

Any installment may be paid prior to its due date. In order to avoid penalty, an installment must be paid no later than ten days after its due date.

The property taxes billed and collected by the County Treasurer are disbursed monthly to the various governmental entities that levy taxes, including the state, school district, county, cities, libraries and other special districts.

I'm a Democrat of the Democratic Party, and I do not agree with our Democratic Party representatives in Washington.

Our Democratic Party has moved to the far left, and we in the center and right are extremely dissatisfied with the "Change We Can Believe In" politicians and their obsession with making our Nation more like the Europe our forefathers had left behind.

Most Democrats already know their pleas to the Democratic Party are only being answered by repeated insult and injury. Many of our elected officials are no longer thinking of themselves as being our representatives, but instead refer to themselves as leaders in the true form of tyrants.

Nearly everyone of our elected representatives within the Democratic Party are no longer following in the time-honored footsteps laid down by the founding fathers of our great Nation. More importantly, we as democrats see our elected representatives within the Democratic Party abandoning the principles and values as set forth within the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States.

Furthermore, our current Democratic Party leadership is tainted by corruption, and the liberals among us are supporting far-left socialist radicals with their agendas based on implementing socialist political doctrines into laws that are non-constitutional. This is a real threat to everything we hold sacred in America, and they are gaining evermore control over our Democratic Party, our Nation, and the American people.

To all intents and purposes, our Democratic Party is undermining and destroying our American democracy as founded in protecting individual liberty and freedom. The examples are so numerous it is nearly imposable to keep up with all of them.

Despite this, we as Democrats can restore control of the Democratic Party back to the party members. All we need to do is cut off donations to the local, state, and national headquarters of the Democratic Party, and to make sure the donations are made directly to patriotic and honorable Democratic Party candidates that are not corrupt or Socialists.

So please help spread the message to everyone of our fellow Democrats. Also, don't forget to contact and request the Unions and other outside contributors to follow our lead as patriotic Americans.

Thank you, and God Bless America.
